Today Dublin Mid West Sinn Féin started a weekly protest calling for an end to austerity and for investment in jobs, services and economic recovery. The protest will take place every Saturday from 1.30 to 2.30 outside the Clondalkin Civic Offices in Clondalkin Village.

Speaking in advance of today’s protest Sinn Féin Dublin Mid West representative Eoin Ó Broin said:

“There is a growing anger in the local community at the broken promises of Fine Gael and Labour. People are angry at the governments attacks on low and middle income families. People are angry at the billions being paid out to bondholders and banks.

“This series of weekly protests aims to give people an opportunity to express that anger. It is also an opportunity to call for a change of direction away from austerity and in favour of investment in jobs, services and economic recovery.” ENDS
